Pediatric Occupational Therapist, Play Therapist
Stepping Stones Therapy Services was founded by Stephanie Trabant, MA, MS, OTR in 2004. This practice emerged out of my passion for working with children and my concern over the lack of understanding and misdiagnosis of children with Sensory Processing Disorder. I set up Stepping Stones with the
intention of providing a resource and place of hope for families and children struggling with life adjustments. I have combined my background in neurology and motor function with the psychological and social aspects of child development to create a more holistic approach to treating children. My 20+ years of experience include working at a clinic specializing in sensory processing, consulting in the school system, volunteering as an Occupational Therapist in both Australia and Nicaragua, and serving locally as a therapist at Adam’s Camp and Access Counseling. I received my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Colorado State University and my Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychotherapy from Naropa University. I have completed specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and am a certified EMDR therapist. I have also done advance training in Experiential Play Therapy.
Taking the step to bring your child in for therapy takes courage. I honor how difficult this decision can be and am committed to making this process beneficial and illuminating to you and your family.
“We do not stop
playing because we
grow old; we grow old
because we stop
playing.”
~George Bernard Shaw
